The McKenzie River Valley is home to many talented artists. Two such artists from the McKenzie River Artists Guild are working in conjunction with the VMCC to host an evening of wine and bites to celebrate their art and the inspirational community we live in. Please join us on November 1, 2025 from 7:00 to 9:00 for an evening with the artists as they introduce themselves and their unique pieces
Joanne Walch
Raised in the scenic McKenzie River area, Joanne draws inspiration from the natural beauty andrich history of the region. Her exhibit showcases vintage stencil designs dating from the 1890s. She converts these into new stencils which she uses to create vibrant, handcrafted textile art.
In addition to her textiles, Joanne produces molded paper artwork using vintage, hand-carved baking molds to form one-of-a-kind pieces. Each hand-formed paper element is assembled into unique, original designs that blend historical charm with contemporary artistry. Her work has been featured in numerous art shows and sold nationwide, with a long-standing engagement at The Artist’s Gallery in Sunriver. Joanne welcomes you to explore her collection at this event.
Marjorie Lewellen
Photography captured Marjorie’s interest in her early years as a middle school student. Realizing an “eye” for unique composition, Marjorie has followed her photo interests from self developing and printing to digital imaging and computer editing. Travel plays a large part in her photos, capturing the images of people or places that tell stories of life throughout the world.
As a fan of abstract art, her work has expanded into experimentation with creating new images from a variety of material. Marjorie has always had a concern for the environment and her upbringing as a child of depression era parents leads to the creation of pieces using upcycled materials, giving new meaning and life to objects other than their original intent.
We look forward to sharing works from these artists with you. Artwork is for sale and will be displayed through December.
